Archival Print Questions - Judy Schrader

Questions and Answers

What are Archival Prints: - made from high quality,100% acid free paper and high quality ink that will make your prints last for approximately 100 years or more. My archival prints are done with various high quality papers and high quality pigment inks so your archival prints will last for many years to come if cared for properly.

Actual print stability and life will vary according to image, display conditions, light intensity, humidity, atmospheric conditions, and your treatment. I can not guarantee the stability or life of your prints . For maximum print life, display all prints under glass, and away from direct sun light and humidity.  All these factors can lessen the life of your prints, archival or regular. If properly handled all my prints should give you many years of enjoyment.

What is a Signed and Numbered, Limited Edition Prints: Prints that are published in a limited number, with the artist signature and are numbered. These are usually done with archival prints since they have a longer life span.

How to Frame your Print: All prints should be cared for as you would any fine art on paper. They should be framed with a matte border to keep the print from touching the glass. Your prints will give you many years of enjoyment if cared for properly.

Please note that all artwork; originals and prints should be kept out of direct sunlight and moisture (humidity) to prevent damage.
