| This is a painting I did for the PA Working
Together for Wildlife Art Contest. I worked forever on this painting
and was very pleased with it when I finished it. I sent it to the Game
Commission for the art show only to find out the day of the judging that I
was disqualified from the show. I have never been disqualified from any
art show before and couldn't believe this happened. I asked why I
was disqualified and the lady told me that the rules stated the painting
had to have a mink included in the painting. I got out my rules and
sure enough, there it was, "must be three species of wetland birds
and mammals, one being a mink." No excuses, I guess I need
to learn how to read. I was really bummed out about this but I know
this is a beautiful painting, with or without a mink so I am still happy
with it. Below are some larger images of parts of the painting. This
painting is of the Ackley Swamp that is in northern Warren County, PA and
in lower Chautauqua County, NY, but could be from "Anywhere, USA" |
